Hamsterley Primary School Nutrition Action Group (SNAG) has been formed and we have registered with the ‘Food for Life’ project. The SNAG is a group of staff, children and parents who work together on activities which promote being healthy, whether that is through special food events in school, or encouraging children to cook at home or through physical activities. The aim is to encourage active learning about nutrition and health for children at Hamsterley Primary. Our SNAG also work hard with Taylor Shaw who provide our school meals and Janice our school Cook and Sharron our lunchtime supervisor, to represent the views of children in school. We hope that this representation will have a positive impact on the school lunch experience at Hamsterley Primary School. Our SNAG will regularly review the menus to make sure they contain the meals that our children love the best!
The SNAG team will work with the teachers and children at Hamsterley Primary to put together a variety of food and/or health related events and activities.
If you are interested in being on the SNAG group please contact Mrs Walker. The first meeting in on Wed 5th April at 10am.
