I was delighted to join Class 1 and the pre-school children meeting mini-beasts as part of a Springtime Workshop with Zoolab.
Being a bit of a scaredy cat I was filled with trepidation, but was soon inspired by how calm and well-informed the children were, showing great interest and good knowledge. It was lovely to see how, with gentle encouragement, they conquered their fears to hold, touch and get close to some of the least cuddly creatures in the animal kingdom.
These included Turbo the snail, a 5cm long stick insect, Cecil the snake, Tilly the tarantula and sibling rats Pudding and Trouble.
I have to say that the grown-ups were quite brave too!
